Fowler-Platkin A registered anesthetist working for the Kissimmee Surgical Center was found bent over in pain, with a needle sticking out of her bloody arm and several drugs from surgical center in her bag the afternoon of Sept. 10, Kissimmee police reports said.Teresa Fowler-Platkin, 36, of Windermere, was charged with petit theft and possession of prescribed drugs without a prescription after a Kissimmee patrol officer found her in her car with the drugs around 1:15 p.m.
Fowler-Platkin’s black Mercedes was parked in the lot of 425 Fountain Head Circle, less than half a mile from her workplace. She had blood on her arms and looked as if she was in pain, the officer reported. Fowler-Platkin removed the needle as the officer approached and told him that she had taken the medication from the surgical center. Officers found a clear bag with surgical gloves covered with blood, two used syringes, two needles, a bloody blue rubber band used to cut off circulation and the following drugs: Tobramycin and Dexamethasone, a vial labeled 200 milligrams of Propofol , a vial labeled 30 milligrams of Ketorolac Tromethime and a vial labeled 40 milligrams Xylocaine. A nurse at the Kissimmee Surgical Center identified the medications as property of the center and confirmed that they required prescriptions, which Fowler-Platkin did not have. She was arrested and booked into the Osceola County Jail on a $500 bond. |
