A Poinciana teenager was arrested for burglary after he was recognized while breaking into a Glade Court home in Poinciana Saturday afternoon, the Osceola County Sheriff's Office reported.

The resident told deputies he recognized the burglar as 18-year-old Jurrel Elijah Towns when he saw him trying to break in.

Deputies responded to the home at around 4:55 p.m. The resident told them that he hadn't answered when someone knocked on the door. Several minutes later, however, he heard noises coming from the back bedroom. When he went to investigate, he saw a teenager he recognized from school removing the screen of a window.

Deputies later found Towns at his home at 767 Lucaya Drive.

Towns was charged with burglary of an occupied dwelling and criminal mischief and booked into the Osceola County Jail.
