 Elliott Osceola County Sheriff's Office detectives Monday arrested five suspects, including a maid, for an armed robbery at the Econo Lodge in Kissimmee.
On Oct. 18, a guest at the motel reported that about 9 p.m. he was in his room watching television with his girlfriend when someone knocked on the door.
When he opened the door, a stranger entered the room with a handgun demanding money. Another suspect then entered the room demanding personal items and money, while another waited outside. The suspects fled the area with cash in a car driven by a fourth person.  Rivera  Pursell The victim told deputies earlier in the day that he had reported money missing from his room.
The detectives' investigation led them to four suspects: Juan Rivera, 18, Eric Pursell, 16, Dionisio Perez, 19, and Benjamin New, 19, all of Kissimmee.  New  Perez After interviewing the suspects, detectives learned Glenda Elliott, 45, of Kissimmee, a maid with the Econo Lodge, took money from the victim's room earlier in the day and told the four suspects about the additional money the victim had in his room, which led to the armed robbery.
Elliott was charged with attempt to solicit as the principal to an armed robbery, home invasion, armed robbery or home invasion and grand theft. The other four were charged with armed robbery/or home invasion, armed occupied burglary, aggravated assault, grand theft and battery. Elliott, of 162 Bowie Lane, Rivera, of 153 Ivy Lane, Perez, of 2858 Berkshire Circle, and New, of 1603 Magnolia, were booked into the Osceola County Jail. Pursell, of 272 Satinwood Circle, was booked in the Osceola County Juvenile Detention Center. |
