Man arrested for shots at police officer |

A man from Yonkers, N.Y., is charged with attempted murder after he reportedly fire multiple gunshots at a Kissimmee police officer Wednesday while running from a fight in the parking lot of the Grand Court Apartments outside of Lakeside.

Jose Ortiz, 20, was one of three suspects witnesses said were fighting with an 18-year-old in the parking lot of their apartment complex on Bass Slough Circle shortly before 3 p.m. Wednesday. Ortiz and 19-year-old Jason Ocasio knocked the 18-year-old to the ground and stomped on him, striking him several times, the Kissimmee Police Department report stated.
